Our Weekend Services

We invite you to experience what the gospel means to us both intellectually and relationally at one of our Sunday worship services. Service begins at 10am, so we encouraged you to arrive about 5-15 mins early, grab some coffee, and we hope that through visiting with us, you will experience the hope, love and joy that comes from a community of people who love Jesus.

Sacraments

The local church is given two sacraments to regularly perform. As Baptists, we affirm that these two sacraments are non-salvific, yet are commanded by The Lord Jesus Christ to be practiced by the church. These two are Baptism by Immersion, and The Lord's Supper.

Baptism

Baptism comes after salvation, and is the first step of obedience in following Christ. Jesus has commanded that all His disciples be water baptized following conversion, as a symbol of identification to Him, and to all that one belongs to Him, and is following Him. To be biblically baptized is to be fully immersed underwater symbolizing the death, and burial of Christ, and then raised up from the water symbolizing His resurrection from the dead. Baptism itself is an explanation of the very gospel of Jesus.

At Saginaw Family, we do not affirm sprinkling, or infant baptism as biblical forms of baptism.

The Lord's Supper

Like Baptism, The Lord's Supper does not save a person, but it does have very significant meaning. The Lord's Supper or "communion" as it is called, is a remembrance of the death, and burial of Jesus Christ. When we observe this meal together as a church we are reflecting on what our Savior has done for us. He died. The apostle Paul reminds us that when we do this we are proclaiming the Lord's death until He comes again. This is a very personal, yet very corporate thing.

Communion goes hand and hand with church discipline, and at Saginaw Family we desire one to be in covenant relationship with us as a body to observe this meal of fellowship with us.

Teaching from Scripture

We believe that biblical, expository preaching & teaching, is the catalyst for transformation in an individual's life. Scripture is inspired by God, completely accurate and our authority regarding Christian beliefs and the guide for Christian living.

We value Scripture—the Bible—as the basis for understanding who God is and how to orient our lives fully around Him. You can expect that each Sunday morning will include a set-aside time for hearing from Scripture, as well as practical teaching surrounding God's Word.

First time?

We know that attending a church service for the first time can be a super scary thing... Being unsure of what the dress, culture or even when to stand up and sit down can be a weirdly paralyzing thought! At Saginaw Family, you can expect friendly and authentic people, engaging in worship to God. After all, we gather because, and for Him. You will hear theologically sound songs, and biblical preaching that both encourages and challenges.

We hope you will come and discover what it is like here among God's people at Saginaw Family Bible Church. A place where it is first more about Him and less about us. We gather because we love Him, and we hope you will too.
